Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. In this role, you will be the frontline hero responsible for ensuring seamless technology operations across our organization. Your expertise will help resolve technical issues swiftly, support end-users effectively, and maintain the overall health of our computer systems and network infrastructure. Responsibilities

Provide technical support for desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals to ensure optimal performance.

  • Troubleshoot hardware issues related to computer hardware, equipment, and peripherals, including desktops, laptops, and network devices.
  •  
  • Resolve software problems by diagnosing issues within operating systems such as Windows.
  •  
  • Manage help desk tickets efficiently using help desk systems to document issues, track resolutions, and communicate with users.
  •  
  • Support network troubleshooting efforts involving LAN (Local Area Network), TCP/IP protocols, DNS (Domain Name System), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewalls, TCP ports, GPO (Group Policy Objects), and Active Directory management.
  •  
  • Collaborate with team members on technical troubleshooting support for network issues like connectivity problems or firewall configurations.
  •  
  • Maintain inventory of hardware assets and ensure proper equipment troubleshooting procedures are followed for repairs or replacements.
  •  
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with end-users and delivering timely solutions to technical challenges.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT support or desktop support roles with a strong understanding of operating systems including Windows (Windows Server) .
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting techniques.
  •  
  • Hands-on experience supporting hardware components like computers, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
  •  
  • Proficiency in software troubleshooting across various applications within 
  • Microsoft Office suite and other common business tools.
  •  
  • Knowledge of Active Directory management, GPO configuration, Microsoft Windows Server environments and analysis skills for diagnosing complex issues.
  •  
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users while maintaining a positive customer service attitude.
  •  
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing customer support tickets efficiently.
  •  
  • Experience setting up and maintaining Aruba Wireless Network
  •  
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar are preferred but not required.
  •  
  • MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH HEIGHTS AND WORKING IN A WAREHOUSE ENVIROMENT

Description

Responsible for gathering requirements, document specifications and work with analysts for development, tuning and troubleshooting of Oracle PL/SQL code (Packages, Procedures, triggers, etc.), Oracle APEX 5.x Screens/Web Services and ORDS (Oracle Rest Data Services), Java (J2EE) Application Development, JSON files.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • PL/SQL and SQL coding, tuning and troubleshooting
  • Oracle APEX 5.x workspace admin, pages and web services development.
  • Web Services Development using ORDS and Oracle APEX.
  • JSON files development and storage using standards and best practices in Oracle 12c

Experience

Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Oracle development with specific focus on:

  • PL/SQL and SQL coding, tuning and troubleshooting in 10g and 11g environments with Explain Plan analysis and optimization
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL features for performance and new features launched with 11g and 12c
  • Oracle APEX 4.x/5.x administration and development.
  • Oracle Rest Data Services (ORDS) installation and web services development
  • Java (J2EE) application development
  • Oracle Database 11g and 12c experience is required
  • Apache Tomcat installation and administration.
  • Understanding of Data Modeling concepts and Database design
  • Strong command of English language, both oral and written

  • Excellent self-tasking and team work skills
